1 million boys saga: OAP Dotun tackles Nigerians blaming rapper Olamide for bringing Portable to limelight

OAP Dotun responded to Nigerians who were criticizing musician and music executive Olamide for bringing problematic vocalist Portable to public attention on Twitter.

On July 18, Portable’s remarks about founding the infamous cult group One Million Boys made headlines. Usman Alkali Baba, the inspector general of police, was alerted by Portable’s remarks and has directed the commissioner of police for the state of Lagos to look into Portable’s claim. Since then, the singer has denied having any connection to the band. According to him, he meant to say ”One Million fans” and not ”One Million boys”.

Following his unending controversial incidents, Nigerians while reacting to this recent development, blamed Olamide for bringing Portable to limelight as their song ‘Zazoo Sneh,’ gave Portable full time recognition in the entertainment industry and the country.

 

In a series of tweets, Dotun stated that no one should blame Olamide for Portable’s actions. According to Dotun, Olamide gave Portable a shot. ”Does that mean he should be responsible for helping a man fulfill his dream?” he asked
