The All Progressives Congress has chosen Senator Abdullahi Gobir (Sokoto East) to be the new Senate Leader.
This was stated in a letter from Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the APC, which was read aloud in plenary by Senator Ahmad Lawan, President of the Senate.
Gobir replaced Senator Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North) who resigned as Senate Leader following his defection from the APC to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
